Ed Dowie – mechanised tea straining synth pop

after talking to Kerrie Robinson she mentioned Ed Dowie and have a new favourite synth pop melody stuck in my brain, what is also a treat is the video to accompany it, an Edwardian Ruff, a Tea strainer repurposed as a tracking guide, symbolic numbers and items left in a field, I have a lot of questions but I’m happy to let the blissful icy tones and Ed’s celestial voice transport me to that field. Eds been making music since the 90s and makes sound scapes, ambient, sound tracks , field recordings and all manner of sound works have a delve into his sound bath

Due to release his 2nd album, The Obvious I on 26th February 2021 on Pete Paphides’ label, Needle Mythology. Ed’s first album came out in 2017 on Lost Map Records. Lost Map features heavily in the upcoming interview I did with Kerrie on her music and influences and music from mates in Scotland, sounds like the highlands and the isles are the place to be if you want splendid isolation
